D-chiroinositol
A$26.20
Description
Chiro-Inositol (free of phosphate) was once considered a member of the vitamin B group and was called Vitamin B8 until it was clear that it was not an essential nutrient since it could be synthesized by the body from glucose, primarily in by peripheral conversion of myo-inositol made in the kidneys into the d-chiro form. D-Chiro inositol may have more specific beneficial effects on insulin resistance and hence glucose metabolism. It has also been shown to reduce oxidative stress [4].
When d-chiro inositol is used as a nutritional supplement it is often used in combination
with myo-inositol at a ratio of 1:40. Hence you will note that doses listed for d-chiro inositol
are approximately 1/40th those of the myo-inositol doses listed elsewhere.
